IMPORTANT: Round 6 event moved to Copeton Dam
Pindari Dam not fit for Competition
This is important information for all anglers who have signed up to fish round 6 of the Australian Yellowbelly Championships at Pindari Dam, NSW. The event has been re-located to Copeton Dam, NSW. Due to an unforeseen infestation of heavy duck weed that is choking over half of the entire lake, we have decided to change venues to the Inland Waters Park at Copeton Dam near Inverell. Lucky for the anglers who are travelling long distances or from interstate to attend, Copeton Dam is only a short drive from the original location (Pindari Dam) so there shouldnt be too much hassle for anyone to get there. Please see the updated information on the Round 6 event page.
We apologise for any inconvenience. We were also looking forward to another great event at Pindari but unfortunately the weed is relentless and would cause major issues for our anglers. We have heard reports that the weed is almost three inches thick covering an extremely large surface area and has been causing havoc for fisherman. Despite not being able to get a lure through the dense cover, electric motors have also been struggling to move through the weed.
On a lighter note, Copeton Dam will no doubt put on a great show as there is plenty of chunky Goldens for the anglers to catch and plenty of great terrain to explore. You can see some yellowbelly action from our trip to Copeton Dam on our youtube channel.
