Results 2015 Jackall AYC Grand Final

The 2015 Jackall Australian Yellowbelly Championships Grand Final has been run and won. There were 263 caught and released with an average length of 50cm

1st place – Loomzy’s Fish N Fix (Jamie Loomes and Paul Browne)
Their result came by vertically rolling trees with black Gulps . Key to their successful strategy was targeting sunken trees not visible above water. They found these trees had received less fishing pressure throughout pre-fish and the tournament weekend.

2nd place – Team Gottcha (Michael Collison, Mark McDonald and Brad Collison)
They also found the most consistent way to target fish was to fish tight to the trees with gulps.

3rd place – Water Rats (Graham Ford, John Morley and Will Morley)
This team had a different strategy for targeting trees. They used Jackall Mask Vibes, TN60’s and Ecogear ZX Blades. The technique was to cast them out and use a very slow hop retrieve keeping the lures close to the bottom.

Windamere turned on some great weather for the weekend but very hot. A lot of great sportsmanship shown by the many Anglers that stuck around for the presentation. To see full results head to the Leaderboards  page
